At Castle Hill house we have a specially trained activities co-ordinators who plans purposeful and fun activities that are dementia friendly including music therapy, visiting animals as well as crafts, cooking and colouring to engage our residents and day care users. We have resident pets including rabbits, guinea pigs, cats, budgies and goldfish.
The garden room opens out onto a wheel chair friendly garden with a raised central bed cascading with plants chosen for their sensory properties. In season we grow vegetables in raised beds tended by our residents who love to sit in the sunshine with their friends.
Inside the garden room, the furniture is chosen to be attractive yet practical and specially designed for residents’ needs. There is an adjacent bathroom to the garden room where personal care can be provided.
