Cedars Castle Hill at the Gillingham & Shaftesbury Show
On Wednesday 16th August 2017, Cedars Castle Hill hosted a stall within the Wessex Arcade at the annual Gillingham and Shaftesbury show.
Run by Trustees Dr Sue Daddy and Mr Michel Pattison (CBE) with staff from both homes who gave their time to help promote the Charity: Tracey Park, Jamie Park, Celia Cundy, Julie Ann Laws, Daroyl and of course Fergal, Yvonne Wheeler, Sally Hull and Gina Witcomb, the stall attracted many passers by The staff were ably assisted by Jamie Park, Tracey’s son and Daryol, Julie Ann’s husband.
2 competitions were run on the stall.
A ‘Name the Bear’ to win a lovely White Teddy Bear. The name Ruby was selected by Libby Richards, granddaughter of Sara Jacson, Chair of Trustees.
Anne Lloyd of Mere is now the proud owner of Ruby the Bear.
A ‘Find the Treasure hidden under Shaftesbury’ with a £25 W H Smiths voucher as the prize. The winning site was supplied by Matthew Tagney who told us that the previous ATS Tyre garage was the find-spot, in about 1940, of the famous Shaftesbury hoard of Anglo-Saxon coins.
Linda Tracey was the lucky winner. She plans to buy herself a new book or two.
Although we didn’t charge to enter the games, generous donations were made. The biggest donation received was a brand new Assistance Chair
