At 10.30 am last Tuesday morning on a grey but reasonably warm day a mini bus and two cars, carrying wheel chairs, staff and residents set off from Cedars Castle Hill for a visit to a Garden Centre in Gillingham.
Upon arrival they disembarked and had a very pleasurable time perambulating the aisles and experiencing the sights and smells of all the beautiful flowers on display inside and out. They particularly enjoyed the exotic shapes and vibrant colours of the orchids and the gorgeous scent of the roses.
At 12pm, in the cafeteria, they were served delicious freshly made sandwiches, cakes, teas and coffees by very helpful and friendly staff who went out of their way to make this a lovely outing for our residents.
Our residents really enjoyed their trip out and were very pleased to have some fresh air and a change of scenery. They returned home tired but refreshed.
We would like to say a big thank you to The Garden Centre for their help and kind comments made about our staff.
Our next outing will be to the sea side later in the summer. Weather permitting!
