It was, in the main, a miserable, grey and wet December. With flooded roads and waterlogged gardens and parks and only a few glimpses of the sun, it felt as if we would never be dry again.
At Cedars Castle Hill we made the most of being snug, warm and dry inside over the Festive Season. We kept ourselves busy by making paper chains and pretty collages and dressing our Christmas Trees.
There was a pantomime, singing from the Shaftesbury Primary School Choir, a visit from Santa not to mention much merriment and singing of Carols and consummation of mince pies. On Christmas Eve there was a Nativity Play performed by members of staff.
We enjoyed listening to memories of past Christmases from our lovely CCH family, some funny, some happy and some sad.
On Christmas morning with our walls now bedecked with gorgeous Christmas decorations each resident received a present. There were visits from loved ones, games, party hats, crackers and then everyone sat down to a delicious lunch of roast turkey with all the trimmings.
Our aim is always to make a proper home from home Christmas for our residents to enjoy. I do believe we managed to achieve this!
I would like to take this opportunity to wish all those visiting our website A Very Happy New Year!
